The Martini Experience
Feedback survey concept and design for La Terrazza Martini Expo, Milan, 2015.
Role
Bacardí Martini (Pernod Ricard) was one of my first international clients, back in 2015 during my collaboration with Opinator. The project was related to the meeting of visitor expectations at the Terrazza Expo Martini event in Milan.

In compliance with the non-disclosure agreement I signed back then, I have omitted sensitive data and obfuscated figures. All information in this case study is my own and does not reflect the views of Pernod Ricard nor Opinator.
An authentic Italian experience
The focus of the survey was the drinks provided during the Terrazza Expo Martini event. Waiters at the Terrazza would approach visitors with an iPad, in order to gather their feedback after their visit. Because of this, I thought it would be interesting to create a very visual survey by including a virtual bar with drinks, rather than placing all the cocktail names on a simple list.
I spent a lot of time sketching, prototyping and testing, centred around terrace visitor's user experience. This also included initial UI work and a a set of photos (material provided by Pernod Ricard) to be used with the survey's supporting software that will be used to control it.
Interactive form was called “The Martini Experience”. You can see all the cocktails served during the event, placed in a bar with its correspondent name.
My focus was on the specific needs of visiting on-site and making the varied content of the menu through the iPad, and immediately accessible and visually identifiable by the both the waiter and the consumer.
What resulted is an in-terrace like no other — smooth touch screen interactions through an intuitive, snappy interface. The interactive form was used by hundreds of visitors for two months and was a great success.
The survey also had the capacity to gather customer’s data, to measure overall satisfaction during their visit to La Terrazza.
Concept created to illustrate how the in-terrace experience with the iPad would be.
